Year 7 Maths Roadshow
Two teachers from Bryanston visited Sandroyd on Tuesday, February 15th to run a Maths Roadshow for all of our Year 7 pupils.
The session began with the pupils being given 5 challenging puzzles which they were asked to solve in 5 minutes. They all made a valiant attempt although nearly all were caught out by the BIDMAS question!
The remainder of the time was spent rotating around workstations, in groups of 3 or 4, trying their hand at the various problems. Some were spatial, some numerical and some required them to follow instructions very carefully.
We were impressed with the way the children maintained their focus for the entire hour and a half and showed such determination if they were unable to solve the problems quickly. Resilience was definitely the key!
Thanks go to Mrs Murray and Mrs Lewin, of Bryanston, for organising this for us.
